When instructors access Turnitin assignments through their school's web portal (LMS*), all editing and access must be done from within the LMS. Therefore, you will not be able to edit classes by going to www.Turnitin.com (or www.TurnitinUK.com for UK institutions). To be clear, because Turnitin assignments were created through an LMS, editing can only be done through the LMS interface. If you try to grade papers or edit assignments, you may get an error message or a warning that states that "editing has been disabled for this native account."
If you wish to create and manage classes in Turnitin without the use of an LMS, please access your account by going to www.Turnitin.com (or www.TurnitinUK.com for UK institutions). Depending on the LMS, you may be able to use the email address saved in your LMS profile as your username on Turnitin. For others, however, you may need to create a separate account directly on www.Turnitin.com (or www.TurnitinUK.com for UK institutions). Please contact your school's Turnitin account administrator for access information. Passwords can be reset by using the "Reset Password" link on the homepage.
*Common Learning Management Systems (LMS) include Blackboard, WebCT, Angel, and Moodle.
